I first arrived at the Bismarck Cancer Center after my biopsy and MRI.  I was very apprehensive at the beginning of treatment, however, as the weeks went by, the pleasantness of the staff and the support of physical therapy, massage therapy and REACH counseling all helped to make the journey much less of an ordeal.  It was a much better experience than I had anticipated and I want to thank the staff for their smiles, kindness and encouragement!

The treatment I received was of the highest standards. Everyone made the treatments feel like I was part of a big family.  Being welcomed every day by the receptionist with a, “Hello Paul.”  The radiation therapists did an outstanding job and always asking how my day was going.  Dr. Dufan answered every question and concern.  I want to give everyone a hearty thank you for all they did for me!

I was diagnosed with uterine cancer in March 2016 and had a hysterectomy on April 20th.  I then received three chemotherapy treatments.  In August I began five weeks of radiation at the Bismarck Cancer Center.  My experience at BCC has been very positive and the atmosphere is warm and inviting, beginning with the receptionist.  She greets everyone with a friendly smile and calls you by name each visit.  Every person I interacted with was warm and caring, always expressing concern for my wellbeing.  This individualized care made me feel comfortable and reduced any anxiety I might be feeling. The chance to meet with the various support staff was also helpful.  It provided the opportunity to discuss some of the impacts of radiation and the approaches to alleviate them.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire staff at the Bismarck Cancer Center for all they have done for me.  There was never a time during my 44 treatments that I was not treated with respect, dignity and kindness.  When a person is going through treatment, it is good to see smiling faces every day.  The surroundings were always kept in tip top condition, the treatment rooms and dressing rooms were always clean.  On the last day of treatment, the hugs, good-byes and best wishes I know were genuine.  After nine weeks of treatments and such good and friendly people, it was with a lump in my throat that I walked out the door.
